SDG Software India is pleased to present a training for " Understanding
COBIT (r), A COBIT Awareness course. " 

With the pervasiveness of IT in all aspects of business, IT governance
has emerged to be a key focus area for alignment and management of IT in
any major enterprise. COBIT(r) or Control Objectives for Information and
Related Technology, is the de facto IT governance framework in use
today. Widely used today, the COBIT(r) framework and associated material
provide a set of best practice controls, indicators, processes and
maturity models to assist in developing and improving IT governance in
an enterprise.

Increasingly, with recent legislation such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of
2002 in the U.S., and clause 49 in India, better understanding of
governing IT using the COBIT(r) framework is considered to be essential
for anyone involved in managing, auditing or reducing risk in IT. It all
boils down to the fact that the road to corporate governance, definitely
lies through achieving IT governance. Cobit or Control Objectives
forInformation and related Technology (COBIT) 4.0 framework provides
practical guidance for each of the phases of the IT governance and helps
meets these regulatory requirements (SOX & Clause 49) by fine-tuning the
IT processes, thereby helping organizations achieve a better Corporate
Governance.

Course Introduction 

The COBIT Awareness course is a 6-hour introductory training session
that addresses the importance of IT governance and the need for an IT
control framework. This course introduces COBIT as a comprehensive
framework that bridges the gap among business risks, control needs, and
technical issues. Users learn how COBIT provides good practices across a
domain and process framework that presents activities in a manageable
and logical structure. In addition, the course provides information on
how COBIT is related to other frameworks, such as ITIL, ISO/IEC 17799,
and COSO. This course will prepare participants to undertake the COBIT
Foundation Preparatory Course (offered as a separate 2 Day course) 

Course Description

This course introduces and explains COBIT at a high level as a best
practice framework for IT governance. It describes the components of
COBIT in relation to other frameworks, such as ITIL and COSO.
